Trunk-or-Treat, Chili Cook-off, and Pumpkin Parade, oh my!
Cross of Life is hosting its annual Halloween celebration on October 27th from 4:00PM-6:00PM (we will also be hosting our Reformation Day service earlier at the 9AM and 11:15AM services, wink, wink). We will have fun, food, and games for the whole family, including trunk-or-treat, a chili cook-off, and a pumpkin parade. All those interested in competing in any of those events can register below. Trunk or Treat will run from 4:15PM to 5:00PM. The Chili Cook-Off will Run from 5:00PM to 6:00PM.
Trunk-or-Treat
Families, businesses, and nonprofits are invited to participate as stops in our trunk-or-treat. It is a great way to show off your creativity as well as to advertise for your business or agency. Participants are asked to set-up in the designated treat area between 3:45PM-4:15PM. At 4:15PM, the area will be roped off to be made safe for our costumed guests to begin going from car to car. Children will be allowed to go through at 4:30PM. We will have a contest for the best decorated cars.
Rules for Participating
Cars must arrive by 4:15PM or risk losing their opportunity to participateNo scary trunk displays or costumes will be allowedAll car trunks and treats will be inspected before the even beginsAn adult must be with the vehicle throughout the eventTeams are welcome!Sign-ups must be completed by Friday, October 25th.

Chili Cook-Off
Help us prepare for the cold weather by providing your recipe for judging. We will judge on best all around. We respect secret family recipes, but a list of ingredients is required to be mindful of people’s allergies. Chili is to come ready, not be made on site.
Rules
Entering the contest is free, but a minimum of 1 gallon of chili must be cooked to share and judge.Teams are welcome!Sign-ups must be completed by Friday, October 25th.Chili must be prepared in a sanitary manner and must be kept at a minimum of 140 degrees and covered with a lid when not serving.Chili must come ready to eatAll ingredients must be edible and readily purchased at a major grocery store and contestants must provide a list of ingredients on display at the table.Contestants should be willing/able to sample his/her own chili.Each contestant will be assigned a contestant number for anonymous judging.Contestants must agree to the terms that the public will be consuming the chili at the event.Chili should be made from scratch.Contestants should have the chili ready and at the church by 4:00PM. Chili can be brought as early as 3:00PM.

Pumpkin Parade
Show-off your pumpkin carving prowess at our pumpkin parade. Participants will be divided into age groups: 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, and 18+. Pumpkins can be brought to the church as early as 1PM the day of the event, and must be submitted by 4:30PM in order to be processed for judging. Note that pumpkins are to be made ahead of time, not day of.
Rules for Participating
We require the pumpkins to be carved, so we can illuminate them for this evening event. You can also use paint or other props and decorations (please note, we cannot guarantee props and décor to be returned to you after the event).To keep your carving looking great all weekend, we recommend you carve as close to the drop-off as possible. Carvings must be appropriate to be viewed by an audience of all ages. This is a family-friendly event. We reserve the right to exclude any contest entry based on inappropriate or graphic content.To be fair to all contestants of a similar age, guardian help must be limited to safety-related assistance only.One submission per individual.

ROSWELL, Ga. — Construction crews are adding the finishing touches to Roswell Junction, a new food hall coming to South Atlanta Street.
Pat Garza, CEO of the project’s management company National Food Hall Solutions, shared his excitement over the project. City leaders broke ground in late January, marking the start of renovations to the former site of Atlanta Street Baptist Church.
“We're planning this to be a community gathering center, where you can come watch sports, come hang out with friends and family, come watch a band or just come out and chill,” Garza said.
Roswell Junction will feature Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee, relocating from next door to accommodate the city’s Historic Gateway transportation project, and a number of other local favorites. The Roswell staple is expanding its menu with gelato and salads under a new concept.
In a tour of the 12,000-square-foot space, General Manager Tim Fussell said he anticipates opening Oct. 21, pending necessary inspections. Only a few of the food vendor signs were hanging up, like Pretty Little Tacos, Shawarma Shack and Cleaver & Co., a burger joint.
Others slated for Roswell Junction include Mad Dad Philly’s, Across the Coast Seafood and Flying Fish, which is currently housed in Chattahoochee Food Works.
A line of tables will go through the center of the room, Fussell said, with the main bar, liquor display and TVs to one side.
Named “The Trailer Park,” the patio area will consist of outdoor seating, several TVs and a patio bar serving drinks out of an Airstream trailer.
“This is the greatest patio in all of Roswell,” Fussell said.
Garage doors lead inside to the bandstand and event area, which includes a third bar. The room will be open for rentals.
Nearby is the doorway to the arcade room, through a wall covered with a colorful mural.
Out back, there’s greenspace that will have cornhole and other yard games, filling out the 350-person capacity. There’s also free parking, about 100 spaces, a hot commodity in Roswell.
In his three-plus decades of experience, the Junction will be Fussell’s first food hall, and he said it’ll be different from the standard.
“This place is going to be kind of more of an event space that just happens to have a food hall,” Fussell said.
Events Manager Jordan Hallmark shared the schedule of nightly events throughout the week, starring boozy bingo, a ladies’ night and karaoke, trivia, margarita and arcade specials. Hallmark said live music is booked through the rest of the year, and football will be playing on the big screens.
Roswell Junction is pet friendly, and adoption events are planned.
“It’s kind of a place for everyone,” Hallmark said.

It's important to note that depending on the county you're voting in, your polling location may change depending on whether you're voting early or on Election Day.

First day of early voting in Georgia
The first day of early voting in Georgia is Tuesday, Oct. 15.
When does early voting end in Georgia?
You can vote in person before Election Day until Friday, Nov. 1. Dates and times may vary by polling location.
Where do I go to vote?
You can find your polling location through the My Voter Page. Once you log into your account, you'll find the name and address of your voting precinct.
On your My Voter Page, you'll find information on early voting and absentee ballot drop box locations. You can also look at a sample ballot before you head to the polls.
